My family is the Douglas's of Caledonia, Queens county Nova Scotia , Canada my family lived there up until my dad when his mother was sick all the time with polio and arthritis and pretty much everything else and my Grampy had to move them to Bridgewater because there was no hospital there. I was wondering if anyone on here was related from Nova Scotia or related to the Nova Scotian Douglas's and if they knew what branch of the Douglas family we were from? My cousin just posted a family photo they have of Milton Foster Douglas on Facebook (which I made my avatar on here) and said he was my gggg grandfather and said his father was John Douglas who from what I can find (as long as it's the same guy haha) came over from Scotland in 1815 and was one of the seven settlers who founded Caledonia or seven hills as it was known then I guess it was 6 Scotsmen and an Irishman. Anyways thanks, cool site! I'm also really wanting to get a DNA test soon from ancestry.com or something but they're so friggin expensive my mom was adopted and I guess her dad was a priest from Ireland but there was a non disclosure agreement signed so she can't find a name but just think it would be interesting all around on both sides. Cheers,<br />
