Further information on Lt Colonel Edward Douglas ahd Isabella Dale. Isabella's brother, Richard Dale left a will in 1619 in Middlesex County, naming his sister, Isabella Gaynor. In the will of Colonel Edward Douglas, 1657, Northampton Co., Virginia. we find that Edward left 3 pounds to Symon Hutchinson, son of Symon Hutchinson, of Middlesex two year heifers. Edward must have lived a while in Middlesex Co and he met Isabella while in that county. Anne Littleton, widow of Edward Littleton, Esquire, will 1656, Northampton Co, Virginia, Lt Edward Douglas was a trustee  in the will. Daughter, Heaster, age 8 to be taken by my kind neighbor, Mrs. Isabella Douglas to be raised from the age of ten to fourteen. Mrs. Eyres was provided this responsibility for Heaster between the ages 8 and 10.

Son, Edward Douglas, Jr., died in 1658.Daughter, Sarah Douglas we have previously, discussed. Daughter, Elizabeth survived and married John Willett 25 March 1669 See Orders X, #10,1664-1674, pages 83, 86, and 102, Northampton Co, Virginia. The couple had one child, Captain William Willett who married Anne Stringer, daughter of Hillary Stringer.(to be continued in about a week.)

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
