off memorials in Kelton Cemetery, Galloway, Scotland.  On one of the memorials, Robert's death is given as 13 Feb.,1851, aged 47, in Jamaica.  His parents were John Douglas, d. 25 Sept,1855  and Mary Sergent, d. 4 Oct., 1814.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
