hugh drummond born scot 1801  married ann Drysdale born 1807 in muthill Scotland   m  abt 1824 about a  son hugh clark 1832. bettsy, Agatha, james, john, William, janet born 12th feb,1832. in muthill scot there were more but this should help , janet went to Victoria Australia , married james Symons  son john Symons ,ann, janet, mary  mrs William taylor , ballarat vic aus last jane Symons 5 kids

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
