Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I am the 16th descended granddaughter of Robert I "The Bruce", a descendant (niece?) of Lady Macbeth and a long list of other famous figures in Scotland and Ireland. I am fascinated by the history of my family and those who were closely connected to them. I already have a pretty long genealogy printed but am just beginning to study it's details and hoping to learn all there is to know about my heritage in the years to come.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
I am the 16th descended granddaughter of Robert I "The Bruce" and a descendant of King Malcolm and Lady Macbeth and am interested in the Douglas line in relation to him and other famous family ancestors.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
