Message for Alison Christine Hodgkiss in Victoria, Australia.

I have come across an Aaron Douglas in Kilcullen (formerly Kilcullenbridge), Co. Kildare. He is mentioned in a document dated 1868 concerning the estate of John Harvey Lewis, a landlord for many of the properties in the town at the time. Describing one property, it states it is "bounded on the south and east by the Hospital (most likely the Fever Hospital) concerns being lately part of Mr Aaron Douglas holding...".  "Lately" was inserted by handwriting into a typed text, probably indicating that the property had recently passed to another tenant or landlord. I checked the Griffith's Valuation 1853 and Slater's Directory 1846, but unfortunately, did not find an Aaron Douglas.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
