A collection of historical and genalogical records

For some reason the previous blog cut me short.

Find Martha Willett in 17.0 The full letter is displayed with much pertinent information. However, one thing is not displayed and that is the return address for Elizabeth Willett. At the time and even today the return address is displayed in a letter. In fact this letter requires an address as Elizabeth is in correspondence with the judge. I suggest that you, James David Douglas, call the Northampton County Court and ask to speak to Susan. Ask Susan to look at open files for the year 1680 and find the letter addressed to Judge Hancock Lee. The Church must have played a hand in the marriage of Elizabeth to Robert Leichtenhouse, a school master. The couple returned to America in Yorktown, York County, Virginia. Elizabeth died in 1716. I believe they had children, See Torence, Swems , as well as Minute Books for York County Virginia. Knowing where Elizabeth lived in England may help with Edward Douglas, Jr. I believe the Church had a hand in finding a wife for Edward,

Feel free to mention my name to Susan. She has been of help to me in the past.

I descend from three children of Capt William Willett-Elizabeth, Leah, and Ann. I also descend from three children of Martha Willett and her husband, John Senior.

I hope to finish this by the end of the year.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
