Hi William Shepard, Samuel Marksbury is my 7th great grandfather.  Samuel Marksberry III is my 5th.  Samuel III had 4 brothers.  Of the 4 William Marksberry is my 4th great grandfather.  I saw where you mentioned you had someone working on our Marksbury Genealogy?  Would love to work with you and see what you have found so far.  I also have a Marksbury book that was written by Stan Dowling.  Let me know if you want it.  I can send a E book copy to you.

Welcome to our Community Network, William

There has been some discussion on the Marksberry line: http://douglashistory.ning.com/profiles/blogs/marksberrymarksbury-family

It would be good if we could get a tree together to see who is linked in, and if we can confirm the lineage - perhaps by DNA.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
