Hi John how are you? Are you traveling to the old country next year. I wish I could never know. It will be very special to celebrate family and roots. Talk to you soon in the near future. Anne Marie

I think what you mean is - to paraphrase an old Scottish expression:-

"Wha's like us- far few an' thur aw deid!"

In other words it's good to be one of the few!

I think they all have some of the same oval face, straight nose (longer), the same chin which are the same, there is chin no doubt, Maybe I am wrong is that I observed the pictures on this site and features come up over and over again. I also have a same as many of you, yes the chin, the nose, the eyes. We got it!

A very nice comment Anne Marie,

But what does a Douglas look like?

Just joking, but if you have the answer, let me know.

Hello Iona,

Nice to know all the Douglas from around the world. It looks very nice where your from, very healthy country. You do look like a Douglas.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
