I remember mom telling me about how everyone had a nickname. Granddaddy was called Scugg. Unfortunately mom passed away last May from Cancer. It has been very hard on our family especially my father. Where do you live? How is your family? Do you stay in touch with the Morton's?

Hi Mary, unfortunately I haven't been able to get far on that line. I just found out a week ago about the Stewart line.

Chrissie..Do you know the parents of Jeremiah's father Greenberry Morton? His record at Bryce Hospital called his father Samuel Morton. Jeremiah and  Margaret are my great great great grandparents through their daughter Mary Winnie Morton Dunkin.

Jeremiah Franklin Morton and Margaret Stewart

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
