Hi Daryl, I've just found another record for thomas peters on ancestry.com
it is a uk prison hulk register and letter book. 1802-1849. it shows both Thomas and William one above the other. I have attached a screen shot for you.
I haven't been doing any research lately but today I found a record for Thomas Peters ( who was convicted with William Douglas in York) in the convict registers, have you seen this already?
Thanks Daryl, the line that my family had traced seems to need more research. Herbert Wallace Douglas (supposed son of Henry) was married to Frances Ellen Noble and Henry was married to Catherine Hickson.
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?

Hi Daryl,
I am going to order a marriage certificate for my great grandfather Herbert Wallace Douglas to confirm what it says re his parents.
I think someone may have made a mistake in our family line. I'll update you when I have more info.
Mick
