Good to hear from you, Henry.

Probably most of the pills we have to take are not all good!  But I don't like the sound of yours.

Henry

I am following your post with great interest. There are early researchers of my line that have tried to connect Col Edward Douglas 1713-1795 to Lt Col Douglas line through his son Edward. I had thought this impossible because I thought Edward Jr had dird without issue. Your recent blog comments seem to suggest otherwise. I had changed my focus from Lt Col Douglas to a James Douglas, of Kincardineshire as a possible father candidate for Col Edward Douglas. Perhaps there is something to the idea that he wss descended from Lt Col Douglas. You have renewed my interest. Thank you. My email address is davidd1103@gmail.com. I will continue to follow your blog with great interest.

Welcome, Henry. Hopefully someone will know Colonel Edward.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
