John, Thanks for your info and those from others. I've received some more info from my brother and will research it and see if there are any links to you or other info I may have that may help you. Regards, Michael

John, I am Michael Dean Douglass and am stuck on researching further back than William H. Douglass, born in Kentucky in 1797. I am hoping that they may have been closely related to your David Douglass, born 1801.  There is a David born of William H. Douglass and John and David tend to re-appear thoughout my line. I don't have my specific info available now but it is in Ancestry.com. I've sent you a friend request and would like to be in touch.  Regards, Michael

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
