Those Crozier and Armstrong, can get us Elwald-Elliott into deep trouble.

The Douglas, Archibald 'Bell the Cat' fifth earl of Angus, pasted Redheugh, Larriston, on to a branch of the family and created the Redheugh-Larriston, which is the Elliot chieftain line;

Hope after this one the Douglas will allow me to stay on their site.

Have this descendant said to be involve in the slaughter of a Hugh Douglas, name as used at the Battle of Sark. He was known as Andrew (alias Dan the Cowie), and his first son was known as Andrew (alias Dan the Cow) Burgess of Selkirk, his second son was a Hob Elwode (ie Robert Elliott), first lived of the care of a Clement Crosar (ie Crozier), which he was the son of the sister. Received the border name of Clementis Hobs, and lived in Gorrenberry, with an Archibald Ellot (alias Archie Keen-sharp and wise). Well his father Andrew (alias Dan) would go done from where the Scotts were hiding him away in Teviotdale and visit this son. He would help out at night an make sounds. Since the Douglas family was a powerful family at the time my family had to make of a story about this "Cowie", which became known as the "Cowie of Gorrenberry", so he would be protected from the powerful Douglas family.

Feel kind of embarrassed though. Family of Gorrenberry seemed to have gotten together with this Bauld Buccleuch, a Scott, and rescued this Kinmont Willie Armstrong from Carlisle Castle. He had a tower at a town called Morton, which does not exist, so today, his it is referred to the Tower of Sark, which the cemetery he is buried in is on. Morton Kirk-Church was on the other side of the Sark from the cemetery.

 Thank you William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
