I have just read William Hook's history.

What boring lives we lead today!

Hi Don!!

Thank you so much for reaching out to me. Early in your email, I wasn't sure if you knew it was me, Steve's sister but am glad you mentioned it later in the email. I have such fond memories of staying with your mom and dad, even if it wasn't for very long. My daughter's middle name is Claire, I think because of the gentle spirit of your mom. Your dad, oh my goodness, I just remember his bigger than life laugh!!

I love everything Douglas!!  I had tried to use ancestry.com to trace back but am never sure if the "leaves" are leading me in the right direction. I would love any information you might have, but only if it is no trouble.

Thanks again for reaching out. Blessings to you,

Kathleen

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
