Descendants and relatives lived in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and throughout the South.</div>

<p>I looked through the ancestor list on the family tree DNA site and did not see any individuals that I could connect to this line. I am a direct lineal descendant of Edward Douglass 1713 - 1795 and plan to do the DNA testing in the near future. That may help some trying to make connections to his line. </p>

<p><span>A deed of sale between William Willett, son of Elizabeth Douglas Willitt and William Baker dated 13 May, 1698 indicates that Edward Douglass, son of Col Douglass is deceased. The deed names Elizabeth as Edward's sister and heir. This would indicate Edward died after his father, Col Douglass, who died in 1657 and before his sister Elizabeth, who died c 1672. <p><span>Also interesting to note is the possible connections of the Blackmore and George families to Lt.Col Edward Douglass line. Blackmore and George connections continue from Virginia to the line of Col Edward Douglass 1713 - 1795. This is perhaps additional evidence of the descent of Col Edward of Sumner, Tennessee from Lt. Col Edward Douglass of Northampton, Virginia. I am still looking for more documentary evidence/ proofs to definitively connect the two lines.</span></p>
