Richard,
As far as the Scotti crest, I have seen it in a few different colors. (not 100% authenticated) Also, I have seen six & eight pointed stars. Amongst quite a few other motifs & countries. They are mostly all located in the, Italian armorials album. Von Scotti in the German album & de Scotti in the Bohemian nobility album.

Here is a suggested lineage, generated by AI with no sources:
The Douglas-Scotti family in Switzerland is a more recent offshoot of the Italian branch. According to their website, they trace their ancestry to Giovanni Battista Scotti Douglas, who was born in Piacenza in 1757 and moved to Switzerland in 1789. He married Anna Maria von Wattenwyl, a member of a prominent Bernese family, and became a Swiss citizen in 1798. He was also a successful businessman and politician, serving as a member of the Grand Council of Bern and the Swiss National Council. His descendants still live in Switzerland today, mainly in the cantons of Bern and Vaud. They are involved in various fields, such as banking, law, education, and culture. They also maintain their connection to their Scottish and Italian heritage, and are members of the Clan Douglas Society of Scotland.
There is, of course, no 'Clan Douglas Society of Scotland' which is a good indicator that this may not be a true reflection of reality.
