WAPENSHAW (M.E. for “weapon-show”), a periodical muster or review of troops formerly held in every district in Scotland, the object having been to satisfy the military chiefs that the arms of their retainers were in good condition.

I contacted the Dukes Archivist Mr Powell, He searched for this record but said he didn't see this document in his catalogs , and welcomes me to the Castle to look thru them myself adding there are other papers relating to Drysdales and the Stewartry of Annandale
