Would like to know if anyone has information about Colonel John Douglas? He was born in Glasgow in 1636 and immigrated to the American Colonies in 1655. He married Catherine Sarah Bonner-Bowles in 1663 and they owned a tobacco plantation in Maryland. He was a member of the Maryland Military and promoted to the rank of Colonel. Col John Douglas died in 1678. I think he was the son of Sir Robert Douglas of Blackerston but I am not sure. I have him in my family tree as my 9th generation grandfather. His son, Captain Joseph Douglas is my 8th generation grandfather. If anyone has any information about Colonel John Douglas I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
