Query about James Douglas and Mary Michael
I’m reaching out from Australia to see if anyone may have information or shared ancestry relating to my great-great-grandparents:
- James Crawford Douglas, born in 1842 in Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland, and
- Mary Michael, born in 1849 in Ullapool, Scotland.
Mary emigrated to Australia with her family aboard the Wanata in 1852. She later married James, and they raised 12 children on a farm west of Bendigo, Victoria.
I’m currently compiling a family history tribute and would love to connect with anyone who might know more about the Douglas families of Newtownards, or has ties to the Michael family in Ullapool.
