Our Y-DNA project on FTDNA for Snipes patrilineal research has closest matches for my branch showing as descendants of George Washington Douglass, 1790-1852. There are several Douglas descendants who are matches of 3 steps and above at 67 markers, 4 steps and above at 111. I have been seeking more information to find the connection between the line of George Washington Douglass and my ggg-grandfather, Elem Snipes (1810 NC-1892 WA), whose parentage is unknown but who was raised as a Snipes.
