One of my current areas of interest - a little on the back burner at the moment - is how the Douglases came to settle in the north of England.
Were they left behind from the raids c14thC? Did they stop off on the way south with James VI in 1906? or Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745? Or are they refugees from the Lowland Clearances in the 19thC?
