Hi Mindy,

Levi Lewis Douglass was b Sept 29 1781 in Chester (Black River ) Morris Co NJ and died April 20 1852 in Woodhouse Ontario Canada.  His parents were Aaron and Phoebe Lewis Douglass of Roxbury, Morris Co NJ.  Phoebe was the daughter of Levi Lewis and Mary unkn of Mendham NJ.  Aaron's sister Abigail, my ancestor, m James Lewis, Phoebe's brother.  DNA testing shows that this Douglass family is descended from William Douglas b 1610, of New London.   There is no link to Mordicai.

Levi m Elizabeth Monro in NJ and they were still there in 1803, before they went to Canada.  They had 10 children.   I have more information on this family.  Which of their children is your line?

Robert left home after his Wife died and went to Cal. Gold Rush then after to Oregon to ranch. He sent for his son who took over the ranch and rventually removed to New York to live
