I got this information offer family search, my great-grandmother was Mary Melinda Watson, and my great-grandfather was Stephen T Whelchel, Mary Melinda Watson grandmother was Sarah Bruce, I trace the Bruce family back to Forrester. I trace that family back to the Douglas family and that family to the Stewart's. So the above does the results of what I found. I have completed 111 DNA markers and I tested with National graphic Geno 2.0 program. I believe I am possibly related to the Douglas is through the Marksberry family also but none of them have tested their DNA that I can find out. I'm confident in the results that I have found as I found a second cousin who is a genealogist and this prodigy trail is the same as mine. Thank you. Jack

    Hello Jack,

First off, let me set the record straight, and mention I am a Mrs. Not a Mr.  J    I am a Watson, and married into the Morton/Douglas line.  I was born in Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a kid when my father came here to teach at a university.  I will be happy to share what I know about the Watson’s with you.  Most of the Watson’s seem to hail from the East of Scotland, and many in the North East.  Aberdeen is where my father was born.  I was just back there 9 months ago and when you look at the phone book you will find pages and pages of Watson’s, so there are a few of us in that area.  J  My father and I have always been keen on genealogy and have traced back some branches of our Watson line to the 15 century, with direct support from birth/death/marriage certificates or registry entries.   Send me a private msg and I will give you my email address and we can discuss Watson Family information.

    Cheers!

    PJ
