Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
Lord Archibald Douglas 1665-1728 is my 6th great grandfather. Although I researching his Scottish family, I am most interested in the Douglas family in America and how my fathers family lost his Douglas connections.
'Your' Archibald is one of our mystery men. Was he a Lord? Did he leave Scotland via Ireland?
Was he the son of John Douglas of Newcastle? (Not a lord) Was he a grandson of Sir William Douglas, 9th Earl of Drumlanrig and 1st Earl of Queensbury? And if so, why is he not in the Queensbury family tree?
Too many questions; not enough answers.
It would be good to know your father's heritage. Maybe there are some clues there?
I have just done a quick place name search and found multiple entries for Nashville, which is not very helpful. However, I have merged these and that will appear in the next database update. But I could see no connection to your family, but you might have better luck.
