Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I’m researching the Douglas’s of Content Gap, Pompeii Hut, and surrounding towns Petersfield, Robrertsfield, Davidshill & Hopewell, all of which are in the rural side of the parish of St Andrew, Jamaica. from what i’ve managed to uncover so far, they been planting and farming in that area since at least 1880
I have not made much progress researching the Douglases of St Andrew Parish, but do note a Daniel Douglas who married Letitia Dorsett on January 20, 1875, in Clifton, St. Andrew. However, I have no further dtails other than they were both born in about 1750.
There are other members of the Douglas Archives who are researching their ancestors in Jamaica, and perhaps they can help. If you plug 'Jamaica' into the search box at the top of the page you should get some results.

William Douglas
I am recovering (I hope!) from an eye operation that did not go as planned and my sight is severely limited, so researching is not easy.
My source for this info was Source: B0010 Jamaica Law 6 Register Marriages II & III,1871-1878, II, p. 269.
