Hi Trudian

It's been a while since you last posted so you may already have the information you're looking for.

In my tree I have a James Douglas born 12/3/1859 in St Catherine.

His father was James Douglas and mother Nancy Ann.

His sister Margarett Jane Douglas married Philip Augustus Francis. Margarett and Philip are my great grand parents. They had 8 children. Philip died in 1910 leaving Margarett with 5 children under 10 years of age.

Trudian,

My name is Rita Bewry nee Douglas. I am from Brown's Hall, St. Catherine. I have some connection to a James Douglas from Garden Hill, St. Catherine. He was the father of my uncle-in-law, Eustace Douglas. I believe that he was directly related to me also but I am having a hard time connecting the Point Hill/Garden Hill lot to the Marlie Hill/Bellefield/Brown's Hall group. I am sure there is a connection though. I live in Florida and will be in Jamaica beginning on Monday (23 June). My e=mail address is rita.bewry@gmail.com. Contact me, please.

Regards

Rita

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
