I don't know who she is, but it looks like she left all of us members the same message. Sounds kind of eerie to me. I would warn against this and not respond...it could be a scam. But then again, I…Continue

Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
Hello Fellow Douglas/ Douglass!
I have been researching my Douglas ancestry for quite some time. We are a proud Scottish lot and I 'm trying to locate my ancestors who originated in Scotland. My Douglas name is spelled originally with 2 s's. My grandfather changed it with regards to "there are no "ass"es in the Douglas'!! So, before him there were 2.
I have been digging deep and relentlessly to find who my 5-great grandfathers parents were. his name was William Douglass b-1720 in Charles Co. Maryland, USA. His wife was "Rachael" whom I have no last name. I can give more info. I am hoplessly stuck!

Wendy,

Welcome to our Comunity Network! I hope that some of our members might have more information on your ancestots than I do!

There are a number of Charles co. Douglases listed in the Archives>>>, so I hope this might help a little.

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
