What would be my best way to start to find out more of my ancestry I have made it back to my great great grandfather, but can’t find much more after that
If you lay out all you know about your great great grandfather and then look for connections, this might be the way forward, but that depends on who he was and what conections he had. Who was your great-grandmother? Who were his sisters? What was his profession? Where did he die? Where was he before that?

I either of them lived, or was born in Scotland, then Scotland;s people migh be a place to search:

You should also dig deeper into your grandfather's background and look 'sideways' for connections.
It can be a long slow process, but when you find a connecting thread...wow!

A PS
Is Michael Douglas your great-grandfather? Can you add more details about him so others can connect?
