Kenneth David Morton Douglas

Male

New Plymouth

Profile Information:

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
The Morton Line.
Alexander Douglas (1585-1661) is the farthest that I can go back. However I can only confirm with "source material" back to Thomas Douglas of Reeth (1664-1746) who was apparently Alexander's grandson.

I have recently discovered a land document that may confirm "my" Alexander Douglas owned land in a place called Kynharvye in the Dumfries area in 1606.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
Alexander Douglas. Born in Scotland in 1585 and resided in Reeth Yorkshire around 1610

    Thanks Ken

I might do that sometime - I knew of the site but had forgotten to be honest. I am heading away for a few days so will look into it more when I get  back.

    Regards

    Graeme

    Hi Ken

    How are you?

Sorry for the late reply , I just manageld to log into my account since 2015 .

Thanks for posting on my wall , and its good to know that your wife is also from Fiji .

I live in Suva but originally from the island of Taveuni, Fiji . My great grandfather came to settle in Fiji in the 1800's, even though we were born and raised in the island , our grandad always remind us of where we are originally from . Anyways my great grand dad's brother also goes by the name James Morton Douglas :) and the name "Morton" is still alive in our famiy in Fiji .
