Thanks for the friends' addition Flavia..I hope you've had better success tracing your Douglas family line than I have..I've only managed to confirm my great grandparents as George Douglas & Mary Sweeny from Ireland..somewhere..I've all but given up without results, Their son Aaron Douglas (my grandfather) was born in Meath Ireland and married Rose Coffey, after they both emigrated to Australia, where they had several children including my grandmother Elizabeth Douglas, who married James Lionel McFarlane from Glasgow, Scotland.
They then had two sons, one of whom was my father Keith John McFarlane who did not marry my mother who raised me alone. So far, that's all I have..I've been concentrating on my mother's ancestry in England: It's been way more productive..
Whilst I am researching my family history in England and Scotland I do have a connection to Fiji.
I worked for the Bank of New South Wales in Suva from 1969 to 1971 and met and married a local Fijian/Chinese girl (Mary Fong) from Suva. (Her mother was Fijian from Kadavu and her father from Canton, China). We spent a very full life together until 2011 when she succumbed to a brain heaemorage. She is buried with her mother in the Chinese cemetary in Suva. I get to fiji every couple of years to "check up on her".

Hi Flavia.
Whilst I am researching my family history in England and Scotland I do have a connection to Fiji.
I worked for the Bank of New South Wales in Suva from 1969 to 1971 and met and married a local Fijian/Chinese girl (Mary Fong) from Suva. Good luck with your family research.
