A collection of historical and genalogical records
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?

Archibald Douglas , sixth Earl of Angus was married to Margaret Maxwell. He was born November 29 1489 he died January 22 1557. She was one of his three wives. Quite an interesting story in the Douglas archives. Jack
Welcome to the Douglas Archives Community Forum, Ryan.
Do you know if your family links into the Douglas family? Or do you trace your line firmly through the Mortons?
As you will know, the Mortons are a Sept of Clan douglas, so there is not necesarily a direct connection.
There are a couple of other Mortons on the network, and one Douglas who has Morton among his forenames, so I am going to open agroup for you.
Yours aye,
William
