A collection of historical and genalogical records
The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?

Mr de Bartouit I would be most grateful for any information that you could provide on the Douglas family in France, I have spent some time searching, trying to find information on my French connection. My DNA shows that I have more than 13% French. My name is Jack. B Whelchel, I live in central Texas, USA and I'm 75 years old. Thank you very much. Jack
Welcome to our Forum.
I have always assumed that there should be many Douglases in France, from the time of 4th Earl of Douglas, who became Duke of Touraine.
I know little about our Douglas connections in France and would like to know more.
