A collection of historical and genalogical records
I am seeking evidence to confirm the following relationships. I have Mr. Charles H. J. Douglas' book on the Douglas family and it states that:
1. David Douglas (b. 1758) m. Eunice Swoddle (p. 105); their son was
2. Edmund Douglas (b. 1805)m. Sarah Hinman (p. 106); their daughter was
3. Jane Douglass (b. 1833) m. E. Fitch (this is Ebenezer) b. 1814 (p. 199)
Jane and Ebenezer are my 2nd great grandparents through Frederick Douglass Fitch, b. 1870 (p.199). I am seeking to substantiate this lineage with further evidence.
The Douglas Archives shows Edmund's brother John (b. 1798) but not Edmund, nor any other siblings. I would be very grateful if someone has any other information to share.
Thank you
Alan Douglass Fitch, Jr

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
