My great Grand father John James Douglass (B) 29/3/1859, Sunderland, Durham, England. (D) 19/10/1928, Adelaide, Australia. - Married Margaret Jane Storey (B) ?? (D) ??

John James Douglass Father. James Main Douglass B() 31/10/1834, Kelso, Berwick, Roxburghshire, Scotland. (D) 15/2/1913 in Ecclesall B. Married Mary Lightly 26/2/1857 in Bishop Wearmouth, Durham, Sunderland, England, daughter of Edward Lightly and Jane Conacher/Lonacher. 

James Main Douglass Father. James Min Douglass (B) 1809 in Scotland (D) ???, Had children Robert Douglass (B) 1837, David Douglass (B) 1839.

Any further information would be much appreciated.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
