The Douglas Archives

A collection of historical and genalogical records

Many Douglas are aware of Royal Stuart / Stewart in their lines,

Many Douglas are aware of Royal Stuart / Stewart in their lines, so I'm posting this (I have Douglas and Stewart , on both Maternal and Paternal & Morton I also think on the Paternal)

Do you believe you have Royal Stuart & Stewart DNA ; but don't have a Stewart Male or the Stewart surname to test. https://www.facebook.com/groups/StewartandStuartAutosomalDNA/

The page was created out of frustration; due to lack of a specific DNA project for those with only the ability to autosomal test

An especially big welcome to those with the Stuart or Stewart surname that have tested Y-DNA or MTDNA & AUTOSOMAL, are most welcome to join.,

if you do Match Royal DNA on Y-DNA & have also autosomal DNA tested; sharing your Gedmatch number would be very helpful for members to compare with yours .

A platform for sharing GEDMATCH.com numbers , so the DNA of various testing companies can be compared. FTDNA.com or Ancestry.com , Scotlands DNA, 23and me etc.

various DNA testing companies are welcome to also place relevant discount offers or posts & images relating to the purpose.

I am looking for some help manage this page & answer questions , & make regular interesting posts and images post.

thanks Jackie

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
