Edinburgh Academy Register, [Drysdale Extracts] I had copied these names for future reference. That was 2011- Better late than never.

Major and Brevet Lieutenant - Colonel Robert Carstairs Drysdale, vice C. C. Trench, placed upon half-pay, on appointment as Chief Instructor at the School of Gunnery. Dated 1st April, 1885.

Sacred to the Memory of Major W. G. A. Middleton, Ensign J. St. C. Drysdale, Asst : Surgeon S. Hope, 61 Rank and File, 13 Women, and 15 children, all of the 93rd Sutherland Highlanders Who died of cholera at or near This spot during the month of October 1862.

John Drysdale, Surgeon HEICS died 10th Mar. 1818, aged 47.
Robert Fall Drysdale, died 18 Jan. 1837 aged 60 years.
The path of the just is as a shining light that shineth more and more until the·
perfect day.
William Castellaw Drysdale, Merchant in London died at Dunbar 31st May 1861 [5
on tombstone] aged 87.
In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren ye have done it
unto me.
John Drysdale of Viewfield, Parish of Lasswade, died there in Nov. 1817, aged 47
years.
Adolphus Sceales Drysdale, his son, Merchant in China died 24 Aug. 1844, aged 38
years.

Andrew married Emma Elizabeth Samler in 1861 in Bengal, India.

 

Andrew was a Surgeon in Her Majesty’s 79th Regiment of Highlanders. There is a question of wether or not he is buried here. Possible burial in Dean cemetery Scotland.
