The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?

Susan, I've found a court case involving an assault on Joseph, naming brother John of Northampton, and son Neal. John and wife Sarah are in the census for 1841,51,61, then only John in 71. Please write me at bhhdesigns@yahoo.com for details. Betsey
Susan, I think I have found the birth for the first Joseph you have record of in Wootton. He was buried Jan 31 1841 in Wootton at age 37. That means he was probably born bit later than 1800 - perhaps 1803/4. The 1841 census gives Hardingstone as the enumeration district and Mary, b 1801 (presumably his widow)has children Samuel, Neale, Frances, George, John, Ephraim and Elizabeth. I haven't been able to connect him to earlier Douglases yet.
