Hi William, Thanks for your comments. I have only been able to trace My Douglas family back as far as my GGGG Grandfather George Douglas born in Oxnam Roxburgh in the year 1728. He was married to Agnes Robson and they had 8 children, George William, Thomas, Andrew,Ann, James, John and my GGG Grandfather who was Adam Douglas born 1768. The family of Douglas comes from my G Grandmother Elspeth Georgina Douglas. Through my research I have been in contact with a family member whos shares the same GGGG Grandfather George Douglas 1728. The photo above shows the huse they occupied in 1728. At this point I have hit a blank apart from a few clues as to the name of Georges Father who could be John Douglas as shown in Death cert. I have been unable to connect further as regards his wife's name or who George's mother was. I was hoping that someone else might recognise the connection.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
