Casper Baron Van Breugel Douglas
Vevey (Switzerland) 1896 – 1982 Cannes (France)
Casper Baron Van Breugel Douglas was born in 1896 in Vevey and lived there until around 1910.
He was a well-known baron and diplomat, but not much is known about his artistic activities.
In Scheens Nederlandse Beeldende Kunstenaars he is named as follows: 'Ambassador and amateur painter. Paints landscape impressions.' He can also be found in the RKD database.
Van Breugel Douglas can be seen as a follower of Carel de Nerée tot Babberich. He also knew him personally. We would like to refer to the article by Sander Bink in Rondom 1900, in which he discusses our watercolour and a comparable work.

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
