ames Bishop TALLEY. Capt. USMCR (Ret). Bora August 30, 1922. in Atlanta. Georgia. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy January 2, 1941 and attended Aviation Machinist School in Jacksonville. Florida. In 1942 he was selected for V-5 flight program and was commissioned 2nd Lt. In the U.S. Marines at the Naval Air Station. Pensacola. Florida. He served with Marine Bombing Squadron 413 in tlie South Pacific, flying over 40 missions against the Japanese. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with four gold stars, in lieu of additional Air Medals. Following his return to the United States, he attended the Navy Instrument Flight Instructor's School in Atlanta. In August of 1946. he was severely injured while stationed at the U.S. Marine Air Station. Cherry Point. North Carolina. While in the hospital he met and married Lydia M. Monger May 15, 1947. She was a Navy Nurse and the daughter of George E. and Grace (Wyrich) Monger of Sidney. Ohio. She had entered the Navy Nurse Corps in 1943 and during the war had served at Camp Pendleton. California, and the Navy Hospital at Halandia, New Guinea. He retired as Captain. USMC. in 1949.

Marion "Mame" RECTOR. Bora February 27. 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and died December 17. 1980. in San Jose. California. She married Allan L. Selke January. 10, 1942. He was born in Minneapolis. Minnesota December 11. 1919. He served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific in WW 2. and died in San Jose. California in 1995. They had issue.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
