A collection of historical and genalogical records

The design of the high altar is perhaps due to Maratti, while the bronze decorations were commissioned in 1723 by the Milanese cardinal Bernardino Scotti, whose coat of arms stands out on the side shields. Protector of the Archconfraternity since 1719, in fact, he had it decorated at his own expense, as evidenced by an inventory of 1726. An apostolic visitation of 1856 informs us that the altar was consecrated by Benedict XIII on 14 October 1725. The word "Humilitas ", in black Gothic, surmounted by a golden crown, topped by five fioroni alternating with balls, is the Borromeo coat of arms and is repeated several times in the furnishings of the church

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
