The Douglas Archives

A collection of historical and genalogical records

Sex and Race Vol 1 by A J Rogers published 1911 By his wife when he died.
Mr Rogers spent years researching the Black Nobility in Europe
He joined the British library and traveled all over Europe collecting data I must admit the information is well hidden but the truth has a way of resurfacing, I highly recommend this book because the Douglas Clan is mentioned, I have also been finding Blackamoors on the Coat of Arms in Europe, I have not found a Blackamoor on the Douglas coat of Arms but there is a savage if that's how they refer to us?

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
