Clan Douglas Gathering - 2014

Plans are in hand to hold a Clan Douglas Gathering in Scotland in 2014.The Gathering will be held 30th June - 6th July 2014, following the 700th anniversary of the Battle of BannockburnA range of activities are proposed. We welcome suggestions as the what and where these might be. It would be good to hear your thoughts on the recent 'contributed' suggestion about Archibald Douglas and William Douglas of Whittingham's possible connection with this branch.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
