Douglass and his sons, George, and Alexander (and John?) were among the first settlers to arrive in Kentucky in about 1775, coming from Virginia. Samuel H. Douglass (the same Samuel H. ?) received patents on land in Chilhowee Township.

Which does not tell us who his parents were. yet.
