Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I am researching my Douglas family line through my Father's bloodline. My G.G.G Grandfather George was born in 1785 in Norham,Northumberland,England.I do think Norham was in fact under the title of Durhamshire in those days.George lived in Howtel,Northumberland which is confirmed in the 1841 & 1851 census reports. This is where my search hits the rocks as I am struggling to find his Parents and would dearly like to find out more about our Family line.Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
George Douglas b.1785 d.1861 in Howtel,Northumberland.

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
