Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
William George Douglass b 1768(?) and transported on the Coromandel is my great great great great grandfather. I am descended from him through Thomas Green Douglass, Rowland Alexander George Douglass, Mary Ann Douglass, Violet Irene Hare, Leslie French. I have been trying to access a transcript of his trial and any information about him prior to transportation. Sue

Welcome to our Community Network, Susan.

I think this this the William Douglas who was tried in York in 1802, and arrived in Australia in 1804?

See also the discussion in the Australian Immigrants forum where he in mentioned.

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
