Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
I already have information back to 1710, when my Douglas ancestor immigrated from Scotland to the state of Maine in the U.S. I am interested in researching forward from about 1850. My grandfather and father were each the last men in their families from whom I am descended. The first double s Douglass I found was Paul Douglass. I have an 1895 genealogy which follows John and Eunice's oldest three sons and their descendants.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
John Douglas

Welcome Susan !  Seems there are a few here related to John and Eunice .

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
