A collection of historical and genalogical records
It now appears that Alexander Douglas did not marry a daughter of Marmadke and Lennox Langdale (their daughters dates are all wrong)but it was more likely that he married a sister of Marmaduke's father, Peter Langdale.
Does anyone have any other information?

I am interested to know if anyone has any information about Alexander Douglas who was born in Scotland and crossed the border and settled in Reath, Yorkshire in 1603 and later married Lenox Langdale.
I understand that he was descended from the Morton line, which would go some way to explaining why I have the christian name Morton and that for generations it has been passed down to the male heirs.

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.
Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.
Professions also help.
'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.
Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
