Profile Information

Which Douglas line are you researching? Dates and places help making connections.
On my mom's side, my 3rd GGM was Lodicia Storm Douglas who I have traced back to John Douglas born 1752 in Middleborough, MA and Lyida Southworth.

On my dad's side I also trace back to Douglas clan. I am not completely familiar with which lines.
Who is your earliest known Douglas ancestor?
William de Douglas, father of John de Douglas d. 1145

Welcome to our group, Aberdeen.

John Douglas born 1752 in Middleborough is the grandson of John Douglas and Eunice Rattleleaf, which causes so many of us heartache!

We will get through that brick wall one day.

Yours aye,

William

Making conections

The more information you can give about the people you mention, the more chance there is of someone else connecting with your family.

Dates and places of births, deaths and marriages all help to place families.

Professions also help.

'My great-grandmother mother was a Douglas from Montrose' does not give many clues to follow up! But a bit of flesh on the bones makes further research possible. But if we are told who she married, what his profession was and where the children were baptised, then we can get to work.

Maybe it is time to update the information in your profile?
